R.I.P. FileSonic, Fileserve, VideBB, VideoZer,Filepost, Filejungle, Uploadstation & Uploaded.to

So you have no doubt heard about the insanity surrounding the shutting down of MegaUpload, particularly the wild story about how the file-sharing website's founder was arrested in high fashion. Well, this has all clearly spooked other file-sharing services, including FileSonic. If you go to its homepage, you're greeted by a message that reads: "All sharing functionality on FileSonic is now disabled. Our service can only be used to upload and retrieve files that you have uploaded personally." Not only that, but Uploaded.to is no longer available for use in the U.S.

Wow. Do you think anyone else will fold in light of the ongoing witch hunt? And could a major player like Mediafire go under?
Fileserve recently removed their “affiliate system” without warning, which not only means that you can no longer make money for either referring a new customers or uploading files to their service – it also means that the money that was currently in user accounts, whether it was $3 or $300 has now completed disappeared – obviously leaving a lot of customers unhappy.
Today Fileserve deleted my account for “Violating the T.O.S.” – fair enough, not really bothered about it…. However it also seems that they have deleted A LOT of other users memberships too – the result being everyone is now boycotting Fileserve and looking for other better alternatives.
I haven’t made a clear decision on what new file host I want to start using, I suppose I could just keep uploading to FileSonic.
Continuing to use Filesonic would be good for all of you, because YOU don’t need a premium account to download.
Maybe it will just be a matter of time until they disable my account to… Lets see.
For now, I will no longer be uploading to Fileserve.
Notes for uploaders, and new editor applicants… The rule about Fileserve being a mandatory file host in all new posts no longer applies.
